At times, I have the joyful experience of planning a wedding with the Mother of The Bride. When our bride is devoured in work…and a few other “surprise guests” just show up! And, have you counting your blessings, for the sheer magic of what Jackson Hole can bring you!
Christine & Jay’s love story began in Texas and would be “Grand Wedding” in Jackson Hole. What more beautiful setting than in their family home overlooking the Grand Tetons and the Snake River? The wedding incorporated the family’s love for the outdoors by having the rehearsal dinner at A.J.’s Wooden Boat Camp.
What a perfect way to begin the weekend! 7 boats carried everyone down the Snake River at sunset – even a bull moose came to the riverbank to greet us and an eagle flew overhead. The wedding ceremony and reception were held on the most beautiful day Jackson had all summer…blue skies, crisp air — just gorgeous! We had one long, elegant table decorated with lavender and taupe linens, incredible flower arrangements and a stunning vista of the Sleeping Indian and valley from every seat was had.
The ceremony was held late afternoon outdoors under a beautiful birch arch covered in roses with the tip of the Grand Teton in the distance. Momma and baby moose were also watching over us from afar… and momma decided to have a taste of the arch before all got started! Just a few yummy morsels and then they were on their way.
Later, everyone loved viewing the snapshots of the moose we had taken earlier. Dancing under the stars took place on the deck to mellow sounds of Van Morrison and the like. Christine & Jay were surrounded by close friends and family – what a glorious evening and perfect way to begin this union between Christine & Jay.
Pack your dreams and bring your smiles, we’ll handle the rest!!
